In a world where everything is becoming mechanical or digitized washing your face with your hands was bound to get an upgrade as well.
We know that with all the new products out there it can be hard to know what product is right for you that is why we have compiled this review of the most popular face washing tools around.
With Clarisonic reviews and reviews of other products, we will help you decide whether the Clarisonic Mia 2, the ProX by Olay, the FOREO LUNA 2, or the PIXNOR P2017 is the right tool for your skin care needs.
What Is Clarisonic?
You may be wondering how Clarisonic works and what the benefits of using their product are, and you should, but with Clarisonic reviews, questions should be answered. Clarisonic seems promising with a lot of results on their brushes for a decent chunk of money.
Before we look at how the brush adds up against the competitors, let's look at the Clarisonic reviews.
According to Clarisonic, their brushes produce a deeper clean than washing with your hands because the rotation of the brush flexes the bristles so that your pores open up and release all the dirt and grime accumulated through your day. Look at what they say below.
"Unlike spinning devices, our patented sonic cleansing technology works with skin's natural elasticity, oscillating at a sonic frequency that produces over 300 movements per second.
The resulting flexing action created between the outer and inner brushes works to loosen dirt and oil, removing deep-seated impurities from pores and priming skin to absorb better topical treatments," (Learn more here).
Okay, so now that we know what it's supposed to do, what does this mean for your skin? Well, Clarisonic brushes are meant to offer a better clean for your skin, especially in removing makeup.
But Clarisonic doesn't stop there they claim that their product will increase the softness of the skin, improve the radiance of your skin, reduce pore visibility, and produce healthier looking skin.
Clarisonic Reviews Product Specs
Now with the Clarisonic reviews, we know what a Clarisonic is and what it is supposed to do; what makes Clarisonic unique compared to other products like the ProX by Olay, the FOREO LUNA 2, or the PIXNOR P2017?
One of the unique parts of the Clarisonic line is that unlike other brushes in the industry the Clarisonic is not meant to only brush the skin but to create a tension between the inner and outer bristles that whisks dirt and oils away from the skin.
With the range of Clarisonic devices and brush heads, you can customize the experience you want out of your device.
With the Clarisonic reviews, One downside of the Clarisonic brand is that their devices tend to be more expensive than other brands because of not only the brands' name that comes with the device but also due to stores marking up their products so that they can turn a profit.
According to Clarisonic's website, their products can range from $99 - $349 in price. An extra consideration when purchasing this device is that the company recommends that you replace your brush head every 3 Months. The brush heads can range in price from $27- $59 for a single brush head.
How Clarisonic Compares
Clarisonic Mia 1
- Dermatologist-designed microdermabrasion and cleansing system delivers proven results at...
- Exfoliates 700% better than our scrub alone for visibly brighter, more even skin tone
- Thermal Crystal Polisher helps gently polish away dull patches for smoother, more radiant...
The ProX device by Olay is a cheaper version of Clarisonic's Mia 2 according to its Clarisonic reviews and provides many of the same features such as varying speeds and different brush head options. However, a few of the major difference between the products is that the ProX is battery powered, and has three speeds.
Additionally, ProX claims you will see results in five days, whereas Mia 2 took 8 weeks to show all its results. The ProX also seems to allow users a longer time between replacing brush heads anywhere between 6-10 months, according to other users.
- Ease of Use
- Design Quality
The ProX is rather like the earlier model because it has changeable brush heads, but we have seen no reviews on the difficulty of replacing the heads. Like the Mia 2 the ProX has two buttons, but considering this device has three speeds that could be difficult for users to navigate.
Also, we saw no information on whether this device has a timer function like the Mia 2 did. Where this device lost points is that it did not feature a charging capacity, but instead relies on batteries. This can cause problems for users and can impact the device's water resistance capabilities, as Olay claims it can be used in the shower.
The design is simple and easy to understand. The buttons that run the device are located on the back and are easily distinguishable for the user. But the battery function of the device loses it points because it interrupts the flow of the device, and can compromise to the devices water resistance.
We could not find warranty information on this product earning it the lowest rating.
FOREO LUNA 2 Silicone Facial Cleansing Sonic Brush
The FOREO LUNA 2 device is the most expensive device in this review including the Clarisonic reviews, but it has great features that could make it worth the money.
The LUNA 2 features 8,000 sonic pluses (Mia 2 has 3,000), medical grade silicone, resistant to bacteria, 12 settings and up to 450 uses per charge, that's right it's rechargeable too.The device is waterproof and can lock for travel.
The LUNA 2 is not just a facial cleanser, if you flip it over it also will provide an anti-aging treatment, just hold it to the affected area while on the right setting and wait.
- Ease of Use
- Design Quality
The device seems easy to use, but it only has two buttons to navigate the 12 different settings the LUNA 2 comes with. Also, unlike all the other models on this list, the LUNA 2 does not come with a handle possibly making it difficult to hold or use. But the device also does not need replacement heads saving users the time and money needed to replace the brush heads on the other devices.
FOREO's design for the LUNA 2 is cute; the device looks like a pad you would use to remove makeup. But its buttons might not be in the best place considering how you use the device, and that missing handle could really be an issue.
But the LUNA 2 makes up for those issues by being two devices in one, a facial cleanser and anti-aging agent. And it is made from medical grade silicone that is more resistant to holding bacteria than the other products and the results from the Clarisonic reviews.
The LUNA 2 features a two-year limited warranty, which is not great, but FOREO makes up for it with a ten-year quality guarantee.
PIXNOR P2017 Waterproof Facial Cleansing Brush
- The perfect all-in-one facial care system! Includes seven different heads—a full range...
- For Cleansing & Remove Blackheads: Use one of the sponges to gently remove makeup and...
- For Exfoliating: Use the exfoliating head with your facial cleanser to deep clean and...
The PIXNOR P2017, by far the cheapest choice, including the Clarisonic reviews, it comes with seven different brush heads, features two speeds, and a bi-rotational option for anti-aging. The device is battery powered and water resistant.
- Ease of Use
- Design Quality
Product seems easy to use with a sliding button that can move to the desired speed, and seven different brush heads for different functions of the brush. However, although the brush features nylon brush heads we could not easily find where to buy replacement heads or any information on when to replace heads.
The brush looks like most of the other devices on this list. Unlike the other brushes, it has a sliding button for its speed choice, which can accidentally move while cleansing. The device is battery powered, but unlike the Olay version, the battery compartment is not easily noticeable. Due to the device being battery powered the device loses points because the features that make it water resistant can become faulty or the compartment could become compromised due to a displacement of the cover.
The website did not give warranty information.
After examining the various products available with the Clarisonic reviews the product rank at a 4. When compared to the other products because of the cost of up keeping the device, and how picky Clarisonic is about their warranty. The warranty only covers 2 years, but the LUNA 2 has a 10-year quality guarantee.
If you are looking for a mid-priced good facial cleanser device, the Mia 2 is the best choice, but it will cost you more the longer you have it. You might be wiser to save up your money for a little while and buy the LUNA 2 to save on maintenance costs in the long term.
In the lower cost options, including the Clarisonic reviews and others, it is probably worth it to spend the extra money on the Olay brush because finding new brush heads for the device is easier and there is information about how to clean and replace the heads available.
Either brush will deliver great results, but Olay has the structure in place of long-term use that seems to be lacking in the PixNOR model. You now have the information you need from the Clarisonic reviews and other reviews to make an informed decision about which skin care system will best fit your needs or your budget.
In the higher price ranges, a LUNA 2 is the better option in the long term, and in the lower budget choices, and Olay is the best long-term choice.
PixNoris not recommended because there is not enough information available for replacing brush heads, and Clarisonic, while a great product, over the years will end up more expensive than a LUNA 2. Because of this paying out the initial upfront cost for the LUNA 2 is the better decision.
